Most of the time, the only way you are aware that WinPatrol Plus is running is by the presence of the “Scotty the Windows Watchdog” icon in the taskbar. This is a program which does what it claims, and does it unobtrusively. The program does everything it promises and more. The Windows task manager is a real bare bones version of what WinPatrol can do.

WinPatrol is a gold mine of information and the application does things that Microsoft should have included in Windows long ago. The Web site isn’t classy like some, but instead provides a wealth of information about the program, letting you know exactly what to expect after downloading and installing it. I’ve used WinPatrol for years, and it continues to be one of my favorite programs. Provides easy-to-understand descriptions of over 12,000 programs.

WinPatrol monitors your system and alerts you to hijackings, malware attacks, and critical changes made without permission.
